‘Lake Ridge House’ is officially under construction.
An Australian farmhouse set high among the gums.
Follow along to watch this beauty come to life over the next couple of months.
We shared a few months ago our mood board for our next build, which was stunning, but sadly - where we are building there are specific design requirements and we are also in a very high fire zone - which meant nearly all our favourite features were rejected 😓 we wanted a black clad house (rejected), pool (rejected), or timber clad (rejected).
So, we have pivoted. The house will now be white (trying to decide between a shale grey or darker grey roof - my votes dark grey) and now have been discussing window colour as that really depicts the whole vibe of the house (my votes black) - anyway watch this space!
I’ve found the interior SO difficult to decide what to do.. it’s a flip house so we want something that is ‘sellable’ and a clean slate.. but I think we have settled on a mix of ‘Australian farmhouse’ and ‘japandi’- so essentially the words I have landed on are: warm, timber, natural/organic - and from here, these are the Pinterest inspo pictures we have landed on (that we both like).
Our DA has finally been approved - so excited to get started and share the journey as we go!
you would think that choosing a white paint would be easy, but all of a sudden you are slammed with 8000 different options and wondering where to go from there? After renovating many many houses I think we have finally nailed how to choose the perfect white which sidenote there is not a perfect white for every single house because every house is going to throw a different lights and some houses will suit a warm undertone and some are going to suit a cooler depending on the colours of your timber, cabinetry, furniture etc
So save this reel for your next renovation !

after —-> before main bedroom edition.
Once we took the ceiling off we could see the potential for a gable ceiling which really elevated this room and gives it the ‘grandness’ of a master bedroom.
We also (thankfully) removed that carpet with whatever that weird stain was…. 🫠
