Happy Son’s Day to these three blessings of mine!

In honor of National FFA week here are some of my favorite memories made with some of my favorite people.

38 years ago tomorrow I was in Iowa full of excitement and anxiety marrying the love of my life and joining a family that seemed pretty complete without me. What was a southern boy able to add to this midwestern farm family? Carol’s mother seemed to always have the formula for making everyone around her feel like they were the key ingredient when we all knew the secret formula to this dynamic bunch. It was always her. It’s said a wise man considers a future wife’s mother in the total equation. Beautiful inside and out, I knew I had won the lottery when I got Ruth Henry as a second mother in the marrying Carol deal. Saturday we celebrate the life of this 96 year old saint. Next Tuesday she would have celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary. Each of her 7 siblings enjoyed celebrating their own 50+ wedding anniversary. Ever hear of such? All of Carol’s grandparents lived into their 90’s. Her dad is 95. Still lives at home and has helped plan Ruth’s celebration. I’ve tried to give my boys and grandkids some neat gifts and blessings in their lives. I’ll never be able to top the gift of one of the greatest grandmothers the world has ever known. I only hope they will continue to live their lives in ways that will honor her life. I’m so proud of Carol on how she’s honored her parents these past several months. Almost 20 trips in the last 24 months to help her siblings. You can see just how blessed I am. In case i forget to mention it. Happy Anniversary tomorrow sweetheart.

Enjoyed spending time with my mother on this beautiful Mother’s Day. Such a fun time with her and our family. I hope we have many more together!

The Tennessee FFA Ham Breakfast was a great opportunity for the current FFA State Officer Team and the 1980-81 team to get acquainted! What a neat way to celebrate our team’s 40th year reunion! Still making great memories after all these years! We hope this year’s team will bond in the same way we did during our awesome year and enjoy a lifetime of friendships. ~Tennessee Association FFA and Tennessee FFA Past State Officers

Congratulations Seniors!Thanks for letting me hang out with you on Sundays! We started this in 6th grade together and now you’ve become giants in many ways. Can’t wait to see how you’ll change this world!
