Posies for the Pantry, an annual fundraiser at Farragut Presbyterian Church benefitting Shepherd of Hope Food Pantry was once again part of KT Global this April. Our #KTGlobal crew was led by Dawn Greaser Zilles, daughter of KT Days co-founder Dan Greaser '60, and they worked to organize, advertise, create crafts, and complete countless other tasks to ensure a successful event. Alumni participants included Sandra Feast '61, Joyce '85 and Kent Williams. Thanks to the hard work of all the volunteers and community participation, the event raised more than $6,000 for the Food Pantry! #KTGlobal2026

Recently, @maryvillecollege AI Initiative, led by retiring lecturer Jan Taylor, hosted an AI Ethics forum for the College community. The scenario-based forum brought together students, faculty, and staff to think through real-world AI dilemmas alongside alumni and professionals from fields including journalism, healthcare, law, programming, marketing, environmental leadership, and finance. Through four scenarios, attendees discussed a dilemma and then heard from an #InspiringMCAlumni on how they would respond from their professional perspective and experiences. What a great opportunity to learn more about how early-career professionals make decisions about AI through accountability, judgment, verification, and long-term impact. Thank you to the outstanding alumni panelists (seated L-R): Mariah Franklin '18, Trey McNear '17, Ian Harmon '08, Meagan Willis '13, Ben Taylor '02, Joe Norskov '08, Jackie Eul '18, Josh Collins '04, along with moderators Dr. Bill Meyer and Jan Taylor. Learn more about the AI Initiative, with the slogan "Be the Human," and the upcoming AI Summit at our link in bio.

Last weekend, the Blount County Alumni Association board hosted the chapter's annual Spring Meeting. Scots gathered back on campus for brunch, fellowship, and to hear updates from the College in the (newly renovated!) Proffitt Dining Room in Pearsons Hall. Thank you to Dr. Bryan Coker and Dr. Jay Clark '96 for providing an overview of the Alexander Institute for Conservation Leadership and the Sciences and to Katie Wagner Philips '03 for sharing about the upcoming Scotland travel opportunity with the @mcconcertchoir . The business meeting, led by BCAA president Grayson Shockley '08, included the approval of two new board members to join the chapter's leadership, Dave Hollingsworth '69 and Beau Branton '19, and concluded with the singing of our Alma Mater. Thank you to the BCAA board for planning this event and continued leadership of the local alumni community! Be sure the College has your correct contact information to receive future updates about Blount County events and more: alumni.maryvillecollege.edu

Alumni around the world are answering the call to serve 150 minutes (or more!) this April as part of KT Global. There is still time to connect through service by finding volunteer opportunities in your community and on the KT Global website (🔗 in bio). Don’t forget to complete the Participation Form to submit your service hours! Want to participate but don't have free time? Support the two donation-based projects: help current MC students by stocking the Scots Supplies Closet, a year-round resource space providing free access to clothing, hygiene products, perishable and nonperishable food, and various other items, or give to support the KT Grocery Store, founded by the Mama Solly Foundation in Zimbabwe to help local women villagers enhance their economic stability and inspire entrepreneurship. The @maryvillecollege Alumni Association board of directors held its annual Spring Meeting recently, starting with a morning of service by participating in KT Weekend along with current students - alumni and students together tackled projects in the College Woods and enjoyed the first KT Cookout lunch on Pearsons Quad. The afternoon meeting was held in-person and virtually with a packed agenda under the leadership of President Pat Moyer '85. The board heard College updates from MC President, Dr. Bryan Coker, and a presentation on the Fine Arts at MC from division Chair, Dr. Adrienne Schwarte - many thanks to both for such informative discussions! We are grateful to this dedicated group of alumni leading the work to connect our community with each other and the College. And, each spring, we especially recognize and thank the board members completing their service this year: Glenn Doig '74 and Joy Bailey Hutson '99 🎉 📷1: Standing, left to right: Chandni Dularam '16, Theresa Taylor Gray '87, Scott Moss '96, Chrissy Eastridge Idlette '12, Glenn Doig '74, Pat Moyer '85, Tony Murchison '03, Christi Latimer Knapper '04, Javon Crane '22, Heather Hendricks Byrd '02, Anita Baker Lerman '82; Seated, left to right: Trent Gilmore '85, Stephani Richardson McCarty 10, Emily Guillaume '15, Jerica Johnson-Hall '13 📷2: Joining via Zoom were Hal Laster '65, Loudine Louis '16, Ashleigh Oatts '07, Alice Wong '98, Melinda Shannon '80, Joy Bailey Hutson '99, and Nichole Johnson McCord '02
