🌍 Earth Day Throwback with Purpose 🌍
This Earth Day, we’re looking back at a moment that reminds us how meaningful impact happens when people come together with intention. 💚
Last year, MC&A partnered with JTB in Hawaiʻi to support their Brighter Earth sustainability initiative, with a focus on the Ala Wai Genki Ball Project—a hands‑on, community‑driven effort to improve waterways and promote long‑term environmental well‑being.
What is the Genki Ball Project?
Genki Balls are natural mud spheres infused with beneficial microorganisms. When placed into waterways, these microorganisms help break down pollutants, improve water quality, and support healthier ecosystems. The project began as a simple but powerful idea: empower communities to take an active role in restoring the environment—one small action at a time.
Our team rolled up their sleeves, formed Genki Balls together, and contributed directly to improving local waterways. It was more than an activity—it was a shared experience that demonstrated how collaboration, education, and care for our planet can lead to real change.
🌱 Why it matters
This Earth Day, that experience serves as a reminder that sustainability isn’t just a concept—it’s a commitment. Whether through large initiatives or small, intentional actions, we all have the ability to help make the planet better for future generations.

Once the private home of philanthropist Doris Duke, this historic estate now showcases one of the most significant collections of Islamic art in the world—offering a breathtaking backdrop unlike anywhere else in Hawaiʻi.
From its intricate latticework and beautifully patterned architectural details to oceanfront lawns overlooking the turquoise coast, every space elevated the experience.
