Nino Migliori in the FRAGILITY exhibition.
- The Dance of Life and Death
Nino Migliori, born in Bologna in 1926, is one of the greatest masters of Italian photography and a tireless explorer of vision.
With the Lumen project, the artist performs an ancestral gesture: he portrays masterpieces of Italian sculpture, illuminating them exclusively with candlelight.
Renouncing modern artificiality, Migliori restores the stone’s original vibration, allowing the marble to breathe in a play of warm, shifting shadows.
In this spiritual chiaroscuro, details emerge from the darkness with a delicacy often obscured by electric light, transforming the relationship between space, time, and matter. It is a pure and universal vision that has established Migliori as a giant of contemporary visual culture, bringing his works to the permanent collections of the world’s most prestigious museums, from MoMA in New York to the Centre Pompidou in Paris. A quest that doesn’t stop at the surface, but becomes an eternal bridge between the history of art and the mystery of light.
