The Prince of Darkness has taken his final bow. Black Sabbath didn’t just create metal, they forged a movement and Ozzy was the voice that carried it for generations. For millions all over the world and powerfully right here in Burque, the music he forged represents a brilliant mix of rebellion, authenticity, triumph over adversity, brutal truth, and inner strength that defines not just the music but a way of life. His music shaped who I am and inspired so many to be unapologetically themselves.
Rest in Power Ozzy.
One last curtain call for u, 10k fists in the air 🤘 at your last stop in ABQ.

Vincent’s story shows what’s possible when we meet people where they are and give them a real path forward. Through the Better Way Forward program, he found stability, support, and a chance to rebuild.
Read his full statement:
“I’ve been part of the Better Way Forward program since July, and honestly, it’s given me a second chance to be part of the solution instead of the problem. For a long time, I was stuck in a cycle of negative behavior, and I made mistakes I’m not proud of, but I’ve made a commitment that I’m not going back to that. Now, I’ve got structure, I’ve got routine, and I’ve got something to show up for every day. That’s been huge for me. This job gives me a sense of purpose. It’s not just about cleaning up the city, it’s about giving back and being a servant to my community.
What really drives me is my family. I’ve got two young kids, and everything I’m doing right now is to build a better life for them and for my wife. I want them to see that people can change, that hard work pays off, and that you can turn things around no matter where you’ve been. This program gave me an opportunity with a low barrier to entry, and it got me working quickly, but more importantly, it gave me guidance and support when I needed it most. I’m learning, I’m growing, and I’m opening my heart to listening in a way I never did before.
Out on the job, I try to lead by example. People see us out there every day, grinding, putting in the work, and it changes how they see us and how we see ourselves. I’ve had people come up and ask about my story, and I tell them straight up: if I can do it, you can do it. There’s another way forward. That’s what this program represents. It’s not just a job, it’s a path. And for me, it’s a path toward making amends, giving back, and building something better for my future. I’m grateful for that every single day.”

Here is our response to demands from DC on immigration enforcement. Albuquerque will not give in to bullying. We are following federal laws and making the city safer on our terms.
Last night, City Council made several changes to the proposed budget, including reductions to funding for Vision Zero, housing vouchers that support 200 residents, and the Diversion Program.
We know how important these programs are for keeping our community safe and supported, and we look forward to continuing to work with City Council to find solutions that move Albuquerque forward together.

Our Director of Arts & Culture, Dr. Shelle Sanchez, alongside the Albuquerque Museum’s Head Curator and Curator of History, spoke about the lasting impact of the Mother Road on our city and why its story continues to matter today.
As they shared: “It is history, but it’s our present.”
Let’s talk about the budget!
Over the past several weeks, there’s been a lot of conversation about our proposed budget. We want residents to know that this budget continues investing in the services, safety, open spaces, and programs our community relies on while planning responsibly for the future.
Thank you to everyone who has stayed engaged and cares about our city!
Big ideas start early. 🏗️📚
Today we visited Dolores Gonzales Elementary School alongside local architects to see the incredible ideas students created for their very own playground. We spent time reading “Iggy Peck, Architect” together and talking about creativity, design, and the importance of imagining what’s possible.
Giving students opportunities to explore and create at an early age helps inspire the next generation of thinkers, builders, and architects in our community.

We are honored to support a trauma-informed approach to ending homelessness, one child and one family at a time.

Today we joined the League of Women Voters.
Women fought to secure the right to vote and expand who gets a voice in our democracy. Today, we carry that same responsibility forward by protecting and defending the rights of those most in jeopardy.
Democracy is never finished work.
