Happy Motherâs Day Mom đ
My mom lost custody of me and my brother 2 years after I was born and moved back to Ohio to live with her mother, while I stayed with my dad. She earned degrees, learned to be a nurse, and made ends meet by some miracle. 11 years later, I was dropped back into her lap within a nightâs notice and she welcomed us with open arms and wet eyes. She had to learn how to raise rambunctious teenagers suddenly, and she handled it by teaching us that manners, hard work and education will take you much further in life than what we saw around us. She wasnât a perfect mom, but she was my mom, and still is. So grateful for this woman, and to be with her today to celebrate the fruits of her labor.
Whatâs the point?
Just a fun little thing I do where I strongly encourage people to point at the camera because it brings some emotion and excitement into a photo. I think we could all use that these days.

Iâm cooking breakfast and just reflecting on how weird but perfect the avocado in my hand is, and how imperfect yet beautiful so many moments of life are lately. Pushing through the angst of waking up early to go suffer in a tub of ice on the beach with a bunch of freaks that @cooperrivers & @jackiehsu_ introduced me to. Planning events for months with @itsajoey just to see the joy on our attendees faces. Struggling to learn how to golf with @guffey825 whoâs always better at golf & skateboarding than me but still inspires greatness. Keeping up with đ industry veterans like @mattniss@kuczeruk@solomonkingofkings as they welcome me into their circles.
A lot of pain yet a lot of joy lately. Itâs perfect. Itâs life.
