Leading positive change.. The journey wasn’t smooth but here we are… With the approval and full support of my Boss @officialbenkalu , I’m delighted, humbled to have successfully driven, led and steered the Constitution Review Legislative Dialogue on National Security Architecture, themed, “Nigeria’s Peace and Security: The Constitutional Imperatives” which was co-hosted by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Defense Headquarters (DHQ), Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) all in a bid to advance the Constitution Review Process chaired by my Principal the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives. The event was held at the World class National Counter-terrorism Centre edifice, Office of the National Security Adviser. Special thanks to my colleagues in the office of the Deputy Speaker, members of the steering committee from ONSA, DHQ, NPF,DSS and the NIA who worked tirelessly to make sure the event is a huge success. I couldn’t have done it without you all. The idea which started in a dark room some four (4) months ago turned out to be a full blown greatness. 📷: @thex_projects #security #dialogue

The 2nd leg: Started with an abstract concept, blossomed into concrete reality. Honoured to have steered and facilitated the Constitution Review Diplomatic Dinner, themed “The Constitution, Dialogue and National Renewal”. This event held at the National Assembly Library and Resource Centre on Friday; 20th June 2025, four days after the National Security Architecture dialogue, gathered members of the diplomatic corps; Ambassadors, High Commissioners of countries, Heads of International Organizations to discuss and call for support and potential partnerships to advance the Constitution Review Process under the Chairmanship of my Boss, the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives. The task of constitutional reform is not one we undertake in isolation, we recognize the immense value of international partnerships, knowledge exchange, and collaborative learning. Therefore, I believe that the expertise, experience, and perspectives of the diplomatic community will be invaluable in shaping a document that truly reflects the aspirations of our nation. As Special Adviser to the Deputy Speaker on International Relations, this is a huge project with impactful outcomes carefully delivered through meticulous planning and execution.

When I ideated co-hosting this high-level Security Dialogue event with the top Security agencies in the country (ONSA, DHQ, NPF, DSS & the NIA), I thought it would be a walk in the park; from date changes (up to 4times) to getting their approvals, to setting up the steering committee who had different perspectives (as security officials, experts &professionals), to producing the Playbook. Along the process, I realized that great dreams are accompanied with equivalent challenges, but people who know me know I’m a fighter & I never back down. I’ve always pride myself as a strong woman but planning this event broke me, emptied my strength reservoire, my tear ducts kept dishing out fluids till it can’t no more, fear & anxiety had a “sitting room & kitchen” tenancy within me, my circadian rhythm became confused, my clothes couldn’t find the right angles to “sit” comfortably on & I’m sure they doubted if I was their usual owner. I remember one of the days I broke down in premium hot tears on the floor of the office (not the kind of tears activated by “breakfast” ooo, i mean the kind of tears that have gone through a burning furnace), my colleagues @_viviannah & @sallyosia couldn’t stop consoling me, the more they consoled, the more the tears kept pouring. oh! I cried & “crewd” like a little baby. Thankfully to the best Boss ever @officialbenkalu , a leader who lets his aides fly as high as they want. When he believes in the “dream”, he will never leave you alone, he will step in, shield you&fight for you so you can stand tall & face the world.@hartng1 kept assuring me everything will go well & encouraged me to keep going. Infact, he kept congratulating me in advance. @joy_akut who was in the dark room with me the night I first ideated the event, present the entire journey and who I always call to “lament”, kept ringing it that God is involved & I need not fear. This is indeed true. @loveidoko “the magician” & “Madam President” (like I fondly call her) stepped in, made sure the things I needed were promptly provided without any cause for worry. In all, this feat until the next one, is officially the G.O.A.T for me yet.. 📷: @thex_projects

Facilitated a courtesy visit by the Canadian High Commission delegation, led by Chargé d’Affaires Ms. Lisa Stockley, to the Office of the Deputy Speaker. My principal warmly received the delegation and acknowledged the strong bilateral partnership between Nigeria and Canada, which dates back to 1962. With the High-Level Parliamentary Roundtable on Trade and Investment on the horizon, both sides re-affirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in key sectors. Last slide: @joy_akut decided to twin with me!🤣😍 📸: @tobilobadearest_

A good friend of the office; The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Richard Montgomery, today paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu. Discussions focused on key bills scheduled for legislative voting as an offshoot of the Constitution Review process, as well as recent political developments in Nigeria. The Office of the Deputy Speaker remains open to constructive dialogue with international partners in support of Nigeria’s democratic growth. 📸 : @tobilobadearest_

The “Town” and the “Gown”! Honored to represent and receive an award on behalf of my Boss @officialbenkalu at the 2025 Nigeria Education Forum organized by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum. For far too long, the “Town” which exemplifies our industries, markets, and private sector, and the “Gown” which typifies our universities, polytechnics, and research institutes, have operated as parallel lines, rarely meeting. The forum marks the launch of what will become Nigeria’s foremost platform for setting the direction of education policy and investment. It’s exciting to witness that the forum places financing, access, and learning quality at the centre of national debate. The House of Representatives is committed to legislative interventions that remove educational barriers to ensure that a child born in a rural community has the same educational pathways as a child born in the city. An education system that produces job creators, not just job seekers is certain. cc: @joy_akut
