Maart was weer Jeugdboekenmaand. En met als thema ‘Lees! Brul! Grom!’ mocht ik mij dit jaar tussen de dieren begeven 🐐 En de boeken, uiteraard! Veel kilometers gedaan met @michieldevijver , genoteerd en geaaid. De betere werkdagen ;)
When I promised myself back in January that this would be the year I’d finally start climbing outdoors, I never imagined I’d find myself on a rock face a month later! In Morocco, of all places!! Creating chances, grabbing chances, you know.
And because I knew nothing beforehand, I couldn’t have any expectations for once. The Todgha Gorge surprised me, amazed me, and filled me with so much joy. Total focus, pure freedom, wild happiness. High above the gorge, high on life!
Solar power in Sidi Kaouki, the kind that settles into me while I’m still catching my breath between sets. Glasses of mint tea in my hands, salt tightening on my skin and the Atlantic reminding me who’s in charge - being almost swallowed twice (trice?). Paddling hard, but so worth it, pulled again and again like a magnet to the sea.
Put your wetsuit on! Come on, come on!

🌒 January was all about unearthing the craftsy part of me that had been tucked away for a little too long
Went to visit the Hedestrik atelier and we took some pieces out into the field. 🐑 🪡 They work with local sheep's wool for their pieces and offer workshops for those curious to learn more about this mesmerizing skill.
