My name is MayaSpoken and I’m a local spoken word artist, speaker, community organizer, and single mother, among many other hats ✨
I use words to share my experiences overcoming adversity, navigating single motherhood, and to raise awareness for social justice issues in an effort to create change. I have a passion for sharing my truth and inviting others to do the same through poetry and other art forms.

as a writer I just really enjoy how everyone’s writing sounds DIFFERENT! The same way we audibly have different voices, we all write in different voices as well and that’s why people feel disconnected when you use A.I to write for you.
I try to just post without paying attention to numbers on here but for thousands of people to connect with a poem about desiring our unfilteredness back? I hope someone takes it as a sign to write and express themselves in their own beautifully unique way 🥹🫶🏾 We want YOUR voice! 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I also miss when we’d post our entire camera roll, unfiltered, after a night out onto Facebook without a care in the world lmao 🥹✨
