After spending Cy’s whole first month with us, my parents leave today. My heart is breaking to see them go but I’m so grateful to have been able to spend this special time with them. Watching my parents with Cy filled my heart with so much love and gratitude. This month has also been an enormous month for Evan and I professionally and having my mom and dad here to be so hands on with Cy while we wrote and Zoomed and made deadlines was invaluable. Mom and Dad, we’re so thankful you were able to be here and share our excitement this month. It felt so right that you were here for all of it. Being with you feels like I’m in my natural state…it’s the most right. I’ll miss you immeasurably until we see you again, which will be soon. Momma - I’m writing this while rocking him in your spot. I told him he’s getting a Mema nap today. 💞
On Sunday, March 27th at 6:42pm PST we welcomed Cy Watkins into the world! This little guy has been nothing but joy — he and mommy are cheerful and thriving. Almost two weeks early, he weighed in at 7lbs 12oz and won the Oscar for Fastest Breakthrough Performance! His middle name is David after his grandpas on both sides and he loves pooping and eating and sleeping and being swaddled tightly. We feel so lucky to be home now, getting cozy! It’s @vanwatz ’s birthday! Last one before he’s officially a daddy! I’m so lucky to have Evan’s sweetness, energy and hilarious mind in my life every day but getting to see him as a father will be the biggest honor of all. I can’t wait. Ev, I love you so much. (Even though 4 days ago you got Sabine a truly devastating haircut, pictured on the last slide. It’s also important to remember nobody’s perfect!)
