Hi all, it’s Maxx, the little guy you see every weekend with my equally as little partner, Kass. I’m a barber, paralegal, and dog dad. I love good food and coffee, nothing brightens my day more than going for a walk with a nice little treat from the cafe.
I’m so honored to be crowned mayor, especially this month as April marks my 2 years of living in Astoria! I never expected to find an entire community of people who I loved so much. I call Albatross our “home bar” because it’s where I feel the most comfortable and welcomed. Something I never experienced in a bar setting before. I’ve met my closest friends here in Astoria through Albatross. Many of them came to my wedding this past October, and we even had the honor of having Filup as our bartender.
I’ve been working on gaining more confidence and self expression lately. I’ve always been pretty reserved for fear of being judged. But since moving here my confidence has improved significantly and Albatross plays a huge role in that. By introducing me to so many incredible artist and beautiful people I’ve learned that there’s no “right way” to present yourself. There’s so many different types of beauty, and confidence comes from owning exactly who you are, which I think I’m getting closer to every day. A big thank you to Albatross for embracing me every time I walk through that door ♥️
