Toy Story is one of my favorite movies of all time so it was a huge privilege to paint this Woody card for the new @disneylorcana Wilds Unknown set. My art is also used on the card packs and boxes which is such an honor.

Vic Diamond was my favorite character to design on Thelma the Unicorn and quite possibly the best I've ever designed. Amazingly the first image is the very first sketch of him that I did, and is almost exactly what you see in the film. It's a high I will likely never experience again.
Next are some of the other creeps that came out of that first round.
But of course we knew we'd struck gold with that first one so we returned to him and played with some outfits, though we never really topped that initial jumpsuit. I did love the driving gloves and the yellow vest look though.
I even designed monograms and logos for him, without being asked. He seemed arrogant enough to want to wear his own jewelry. And of course it was funny that his initials were VD so I had to take advantage of that.
The moment we really found the character was when I worked on Vic's iconic smile. His grotesque teeth from some of my early concepts served as the inspiration for this take. I still remember the horrified laughs on the call after I posted this. A star was born.

This is the most fun I’ve had painting a character in a while. Done in Procreate with my Oil MaxPack, mainly using the Dry Oil series.
What a great day at Downtown Disney for the launch of @disneylorcana Wilds Unknown! I signed over 200 items including a handful of Powerlines, some of which were in Japanese- a first for me. Thanks to everyone who came out and waited in line from early in the morning and who drove in from other states and even Mexico. I was so happy to meet everyone and share a fantastic day. And bonus points to everyone who said nice things about my adorable son and beautiful wife. What a lovely community we have.

Finally got to do some cafe sketching for the first time since having a son. Snuck this in between bottles and wake windows. Not bad for a quick loose take on the barista. Feels good to be back.
On Friday we welcomed Tomas into the world. It was a little early and a lot scary. But thankfully mother and son are doing well and we'll all be home together soon.
We need to offer a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Providence St Joseph Labor & Delivery and NICU departments. Our family owes so much to them and their incredible care.
