When I moved to Oregon over a decade ago, I was deeply inspired by the outdoor photographers on this platform. Their work fueled my curiosity and pushed me to explore so much of the Pacific Northwest.
This waterfall along the California coast is one I used to see all over Instagram years ago. While I still admire the work of many photographers, I’m not as driven to chase the same locations anymore—but this one had been on my bucket list for a long time. Catching that little rainbow made it even more special.

The fun thing about shooting Aurora is that it’s constantly changing. I could stand there regardless of the temperature and press the shutter all night long to see what wild shapes come through. This was captured on a night where we saw temperatures as low as -18°! 🧊
