1.3 — I started DJing in 2008. I made beats at the time and I wanted to learn how to scratch, to add that sfx to my production. A very good friend of my (@itsjustasap ) was gracious enough to show me the basics (mixing, juggling, blending, cutting, etc) in college and from there the rest is what it became. Saved a couple dollars and was able to afford a pair of Numark TT USB turntables and some beat up mixer (no clue what it was) and began to just fall in love with the process. I’d literally go 4-6 hours a day just mixing on my mother’s kitchen island - recording it and reviewing the audio like game tape. I ran through about 3-4 needle cartridges a month; and if you know what I’m talking about - that was just nasty work lol. Nonetheless, those 6 hours sessions brought a combination of frustration and peace; and now that I’m more comfortable it’s really just peace. I’m going to get back to those 4-6 sessions, I’m even going to let y’all see the practice film too lol. No headphones messing with @serato Stems is not for the weak but lets see how this goes. Shout out to @jbthegawd & @thehowellworld for the motivation and accommodations - Might make this something we do before snowstorms.
