Tickets for this and other curated films can be found on the AFA website running till end of May, don’t miss this chance to watch some local legends in this absolute cinema of a programme. Thank you to the programmers Aishah Abu Bakar, Sophia Siddique and AFA team for the support. Meet Max (@maxlyh ), the Multimedia Designer for 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨. For him, this isn't a romcom, it's an exploration of human connection through a digital visual language. By playing with corrupted media, geometric shapes, and abstract imagery, Max bridges the gap between the multiverses of Roland the beekeeper (@marinerho ) and the mind of Marianne the quantum physicist (@juliana.kchan ) 🐝⚛️ Whether it's the crisp lines of a honeybee's hive or the entanglements of a scientific theory, multimedia helps audiences to phase in and out of different realities. Constellations by Nick Payne 📍 KC Arts Centre – Home of SRT 📅 2–5 April (Strictly 4 Shows) 🎟 Tickets from $27 (Link in bio!) ✨ Don't forget to use your SG Culture Pass! #singapore #theatre #thingstodo #productionlife #behindthescenes

My 6th NDP and the biggest one so far. Thank you @salsarina for trusting me to produce the graphics for you, and directing such thoughtful segments both at the LEDs at the Padang and the projections for UOB and Fullerton. More than a year of planning and work went into the beautiful graphics: many overnights tests, meetings and rehearsals. These were made possible with the restless and passionate teams of very talented and hearty folks from @anomalyststudio , @crave.fx , @findingpictures as well as students from NYP and many others. Also thankful for the multimedia army team led by @benlow92 who made everything possible, despite the daunting road. And finally to my @koochiameng @xinenxu , I hope I made you guys a little prouder this year. 翅膀硬了。

Uncle Lui Hock Seng passed at the age of 88. He was a working man, having had many different jobs in his lifetime to raise his family and to support himself in his old age. He described his time working to me from as a simple mechanic until past his retirement, a humble toilet cleaner. Conversations with him were always like a light brush stroke, he described them earnestly and candidly but never in great detail; he was simply surviving and doing his best. His sons remember him as a man who never showed his weak side even as he refused to take morphine and painkillers in his battles with illness. Perhaps more importantly a joyful man who never learn to communicate his feelings, from a time where there wasn’t a point to. Heartfelt compliments he would received for his work were always replied with the same shy “谢谢”. In the photographs he took since he was a young man, you see the craft and love that someone, who had nothing to his name but passion, achieved. A man who learnt the technical and artistry by practicing on his off days, a man who didn’t expect to be able to have his first exhibition at age 81, and a man who was quietly brilliant till the last day of his life. Objectifs houses a collection of Uncle Lui’s photographs from an unrecognisable Singapore life, one that parallels his own. Fantasies made real of a brilliant man, who was never able to express himself in any other way except through light and lens.
