My career began with ski and surf films, chasing light, weather, and moments that could never be repeated. Those early years were defined by unpredictability and presence, capturing something real in environments that do not wait for you.
Drift is the first time I have felt that same sense of possibility through these new tools, not just to capture a world, but to build one around the emotional core of surfing. To shape memory, atmosphere, and movement in a way that still feels grounded, tactile, and honest.
At its heart, this film is about returning, to life, to movement, and to the people and places that define who we are. After a period where everything is put on hold, where your body and identity are uncertain, there is something powerful in finding your way back to what once made you feel alive. Surfing becomes more than an action, it is a way of reconnecting, of proving to yourself that you are still there.
This project is deeply rooted in collaboration. From the earliest visual prompts to the final soundtrack, it has been about building something emotional rather than explanatory, a film that does not tell you what to feel, but invites you to remember something of your own.
