Spending the last four days in San Diego witnessing the craft of @maxgilldesign and @sirenfloralco has been a profound recalibration. Beyond their ‘creative beast mode’ skills (you truly had to be there for those siiiick moments), it is their vulnerability and humility that sets them apart. I believe this is exactly why they are such magnetic forces in our industry. In celebration of the anticipated release of the first edition @flowerhousemexico book on March 24th, I’m looking back and sharing a few images from the installation @sirenfloralco and I created over several days in collaboration with ALL the attendees in turn (Oaxaca chapter) The book, available through @abramsbooks , photographed by @corbingurkin , @christine.chitnis author, captures more than the beauty created during our time together over the years since @pfuentes made this Herculean vision a reality. It truly takes me back to the experience of working within a growing community of like minded people to make a real difference in the lives of others I may never meet - a contribution beyond what flowers have become for each of us individually, day to day - to what they COULD be to ALL of us collectively. It’s an experience that reacquainted me with what I fell in love with about flowers in the first place and, at the same time, made me aware of their potential to reach far beyond it.
