Images without sound documenting an evening of radiophonic works by Ira Hadžić, Miyuki Jokiranta and Nicolas Montgermont, convened by @sternjoel and presented on one or more speakers in the studio, lounge and tv room, as part of the occasional series <Proof of Concept>
Some snippets from <Rememory: the 25th Biennale of Sydney>, curated by Hoor Al Qasimi. Decentred, dispersed, under stress, and fraying at the edges, much like the new world disorder that surrounds us, and subject to the judgements of those who speak before doing the work of looking and listening, the exhibition unfolds as a montage of projects exploring memory and fragments of history that echo and resonate in the present. Artists’ projects move with care, exuberance and commitment, tracing ways in which memory shapes places, identities, communities and the fragile architectures of belonging. With appearances by @behrouzboochani and Helen Grace (@autohelen ); and Ute Meta Bauer… @biennalesydney@hooralq

Congratulations to @elliebuttrose curator of Yield Strength: 2026 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, and to the participating artists at @agsa.adelaide@samstagmuseum and the Botanical Gardens. An exhibition of material intelligences and intensities, stress and abrasion, thresholds and narrative transformation; variously presented as raw material evidence in a boldly unadorned bodily scenography.

26 January is a day for truth-telling and reflection, not celebration. Continuing to celebrate this date perpetuates injustice and division. For First Nations peoples, it has been a Day of Mourning since 1938. It’s time to find a new date that can genuinely be inclusive — and be done with the hurt, division and the exhausting, insensitive annual debate. Change the date… Treaty Now! [-o-]
Vale dear Ashley Crawford, editor, publisher and writer, and occasional curator. Ashley was the editor of legendary journal Tension Magazine, as well as World Art, 21•C, and Photofile, the author of numerous books and monographs, an intrepid writer of countless texts on artists over decades, a champion of artists and great and loyal friend to many. Love and condolences… Too many farewells…
Vale, dear Maudie — a guiding light, a mentor, a staunch advocate, and a true visionary, unceasing in her support for artists and in her big-picture thinking, whose legacy is immeasurable and enduring. She entrusted me with my first curatorial role in a public museum thirty years ago, and from that moment on she became a treasured friend and mentor — steadfast, wise, and endlessly encouraging — as she was for so many who had the good fortune to find themselves in her orbit. My love and deepest condolences to Maudie’s beautiful family and her many friends. Her uncompromising, beautiful, brilliant spirit and example lives on. 💔
