Köpenhamn är verkligen en mysig stad! Ett dygn för att fira makens förestående födelsedag bjöd förutom vårsol, på besök i Kødebyen med den välsmakande maten på Gaza Grill (rekommenderas!) och galleri V där brorsdotter Johannas Max chefar. Det fina Arbejdermuseet är väl värt ett besök, Danmark hade både kvinnlig rösträtt före Sverige och världens första kvinnliga minister. I dessa tiden behöver man mjuk, melodiös musik som våra favoriter The Paper Kites. Konsertlokalen Vega är en klassiker, påminner om Nalen.

Rose Eken’s new ceramic snapshots - an art oxymoron, if ever there was one, combines the
dynamic, ephemeral and intuitive composition of the snapshot with the contemplative, sensitive,
meticulous and often volatile process of working in ceramics.
The ceramic paintings revolve around themes such as vulnerability, human connection, disputed
beauty, desire, empowerment, intimacy, womanhood, fleeting youth, admiration and how personal
emotion intersects with history. The new works feel diaristic yet carefully attuned to how images
circulate and resonate culturally. Collapsing hierarchies -treating carefully composed portraits,
iPhone blurs, still lives and casual snapshots with the same seriousness and dedication. In the new
paintings Eken elevates her subjects to icons while not letting go of grit, fragility and longing.
Seemingly classic motifs arise from mundane situations at the local bar, exhibition openings and
concerts. Rather than realism, she aims for emotional truth and poetic resonance. Tender, at times
wistful, but unsentimental, engaging and deeply human.

The new artworks for Preservation Season 2025 have arrived!
After their visit to Bornholm this summer, our friends @meiow_mix , @loji.its.official , and @madsbryld from @v1gallery created a series of works inspired by their journey around the island, from our garden and rocky coastlines to the quiet forest paths.
Just like our Preservation Season menu which features the best of Bornholm's summer preserved in time, the artworks reflect our beloved island in the peak of its most abundant season.
We’re thrilled to see their pieces now hanging in the restaurant and can't wait for the first guests to see them in all their glory this weekend.
