I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to the mother of my children Tracey Godsil. I can tell you honestly how much I adore this woman without embarrassing her. It’s our secret. She never goes on social media. May is always a big month for us - her bday is May 4th fittingly - and she is The Force in our lives - yay Momzo
Hmmmm. 46 and raining. Must’ve brought the PNW weather back w me. Second 10k of the spring complete. I can’t seem to talk anyone into this one (cept my wife)- it’s the Woods and Lakes trail run in Mountains Lake. Well organized. Small but mighty crowd includes a dancing frog playing the cowbell. And you know what I say. More frogs. More cowbell.
It’s the 50th Annual Essex County Cherry Blossom 10k and our 10th as a couple since we moved to NJ. This year had more runners than any year yet - over 3000. Lots of young people. The joy was exponential. The official kickoff of spring and this year everyone got the best - a chamber of commerce day for a chamber of commerce run - the sun out and the cherry blossoms at peak bloom. I run as fast as a New Yorker walks but I still feel health and freedom and accomplishment - as a severely asthmatic child who couldn’t walk uphill or sleep, I never take health for granted and running is never an obligation but always a gift - gratitude!
One from the Archives - on the right. The animatronic rhino from our “rhino tipping” Toyota Tacoma commercial - the idea was that dudes that drive Tacomas are so tough, they don’t go cow tipping, they go rhino tipping. And then the rhino - which through the miracle of movie making was life sized and chased the truck. They got away of course. If only Fincher had directed … and on the left an even more intriguing artifact!?! The Redd Kross “Show World” tour T-shirt. OK kids you have the pertinent info - name the year

Worked in a hike this morning up the flatirons - the only people out were people trail running on trails that most people need to scramble on all fours and then people scaling rock walls. Boulder - well named
