The Raffertys Coastal Run returns this July, taking runners from the shores of Lake Macquarie through to the rugged coastline of the Munmorah State Conservation Area.

There are some race days that just click, and this was one of them!
It started cool and clear, the kind of morning where everyone’s sizing up the day ahead. Then the sun came out, the trails lit up, and suddenly it felt like the whole of Ku-ring-gai Chase was alive with runners.
Different paces, different goals, but all moving through the same winding trails of this spectacular National Park. The mix of running clubs, fresh faces, and some seriously quick young legs made for a memorable day on course.
A big shoutout to our 2026 Triple Trail cohort, who’ve officially ticked off their first event. One down, two to go… we’re excited to see how your year unfolds.

Some of you will have noticed that our race bibs were made of a different material on Saturday. We were trialing a new recyclable option at this event. Despite our testing providing some positive results they weren’t up to race day conditions. We will be reverting back to our normal polypropylene bibs going forward. (And a shoutout to our fantastic sweep team who cleared the fallen race bibs from the course).
