1. Professor’s meet you where you’re at - if you don’t put in the work yourself , your Professor can’t help you with anything.
2. Everyone is stressed about something - for me it was adjusting to college life , social interactions which I’m terrible with and my mind explodes with anxiety whenever it happens, and being away from home and somewhat independent scares and motivates me to become a better person.
3. Being kind is essential - no matter your situation or how upset you may be about your personal life , don’t let it make you sour. I’ve made this mistake and being sour only makes people not want to be around you. So be kind , even to those who aren’t being kind to you.
4. Asking for help - I was experiencing a lot of burn out and my mental health wasn’t great my first year in college. My first semester I dealt with it myself and my second semester I got therapy and help. It worked for me and it was included with the tuition so if you’ve got something like that at your school, take advantage of that.
5. Try. Actually try. If you worked hard enough to get into a college , work hard to maintain good academics , discipline , and a good routine for success. Whatever that success means to you.
6. Be open minded and remove your ego so you can grow as a student and person
7. Get criticism on your work & apply it. Listen to more music. Do your best.
8. Practice. Practice. Practice. “Practice makes progress”
