Max For Snacks is a project lead by drummer and composer Max Liebenberg. The group began in 2020 and has taken on various iterations since its inception, and they perform compositions and arrangements written by Max for this group. The musical scope of this project is broad, in both compositional and performance aspects. Max’s compositions draw influence from a wide range of music; from 20th Century Modern Classical music to the 1960s hard-bop era of Wayne Shorter and Andrew Hill.

Die Sessions finden jeden Donnerstag im Schall und Rauch statt. Um 20:30 Uhr spielt eine Opening Band, anschliessend beginnt die Jam Session für die Basler Jazz Szene.

This Friday, we start a new event at @schallundrauchbar with this seriously strange band called HITSHED. We’ll reanimate club electronic music in a live band setting. It’s music to be danced to.

Super grateful to have had two nights at the @birdseyejazzclub last week with Lennard Fiehn Quartet. Love playing with this group every damn time. Special mention to little Eddy for being so chill about his parent’s going off to gig together. ❤️ And to Lenny and Sneji for being so brave and handling this situation together. All the looove!

No gigs atm = me messing around with #ableton and creating loops to play over. Created this in an afternoon and found some sh*t to play over it. Having fun and trying not to judge too harshly. Drums recorded with one SM58 cos that’s what we got here 😆.
