Dear World Curry Friends and Family,
We have bittersweet news to share. After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close World Curry at the end of this year, concluding nearly 30 incredible years. Starting September 16th, we’ll no longer serve lunch, and our new hours will be 4 PM - 9 PM. We’re closed on Tuesdays. We’ll keep you updated once we have a confirmed final date.
World Curry has been a story of love, passion, and the American dream. My parents, Bruce & Momoko Jackson, met in Japan and shared a deep love for food from all cultures. In 1995, they turned their passion into a reality, opening this restaurant to bring global curry flavors to Pacific Beach. Without any business experience, starting was overwhelming, but it became a source of great joy. In the midst of it all, they had their first child, Hana, in 1996, whose name inspired our famous Hanagoma salad dressing. Hana, Kana, and I grew up helping out wherever we could, truly embodying the essence of a family business. After my dad’s passing in 2022, I joined my mom full time to keep World Curry going. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’ve cherished every moment of sharing our food and stories with you.
To our valued customers: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Whether you’ve been with us for years or just found us recently, your support has made this journey rewarding beyond words. We will miss you dearly.
