One Asia Communications (OAC), a network of 12 owner-operated communications agencies just concluded its third forum in Bangkok recently. There, OAC published a white paper on “AI Adoption Among PR Professionals in Asia 2025”, having polled nearly 300 in-house respondents across the 12 Asian markets the network is present in. The white paper found that PR professionals in Asia, in contrast to their Western counterparts, were optimistic about AI, seeing it as a force for good. Many, however, were not structured to increase their capabilities to use AI inspite of their bullish attitude. In a meeting after the forum the OAC also agreed to roll out Generative Engine Optimization together with communications measurment and integration as core specializations. Bali is more than just a destination — it’s a living story of culture, traditions, and nature. Maverick is honored to support @airbnb and @unesco in launching the Bali Cultural Guidebook, which aims to celebrate and preserve the island’s cultural heritage, disperse tourism to lesser-known areas, and promote responsible travel. As part of the initiative, we hosted a press conference to launch UNESCO’s Cultural Guidebook, attended by media and influencers from Indonesia, China, Malaysia, India, and Australia. This was followed by a two-day FAM trip exploring five districts featured in the guidebook - Bangli, Tabanan, Badung, Gianyar, and Buleleng — where participants experienced Bali’s rich traditions, crafts, cuisine, and stories. Maverick had the honour to again support @skkmigasofficial and KKKS in their Annual Strategic Meeting (Rapat Kerja Kehumasan) last week in Bandung. The two-day forum combined expert-led sessions and interactive strategic workshops, and gathered over 100 communication and stakeholder relations professionals from across Indonesia's upstream oil & gas sector. We facilitated the insight-sharing sessions on Al and strategic communications, as well as interactive workshops where we aligned on the most pressing issues, sharpened the industry's key narrative, and co-developed a communication strategy for 2026. At The Comms Club, we brought together communicators and PR leaders from Indonesia’s banking industry to explore this shift. We shared our study on AI visibility in banks, revealing how reputation and trust are shaped by what AI answers highlight. Dian Gemiano, CMO of KG Media, also shared the media perspective on how AI-driven discovery is changing the way brands and media connect with audiences. We wrapped up the two-day Masterclass on The Art & Science of Communication Measurement on 23 July 2025. The Masterclass was conducted by Felicia Nugroho @fnugroho , Maverick's Director of Analytics & Insights, who is also the Chair of AMEC in the Asia-Pacific @amecmeasurement . Through this joint initiative, Perhumas @perhumas_indonesia and Maverick aimed to support the continuous improvement of professional standards in the public relations industry. Among the 18 participants were representatives from state-owned organizations as well as mining and fintech companies. The participants learned about the Barcelona Principles and AMEC'S Integrated Evaluation Framework, but more importantly, how to apply them to suit their organization's specific needs.
