These two originals found new homes last weekend at the Schmidt art crawl. 🥰 Thank you to my sweet art collectors, to my best frame maker, to my fam and friends who encouraged and gave bathroom breaks, to the Schmidt art crawl crew for a great event, and to my hubby for holding down the fort with our baby girl.

Studio update: my favorite creation ever is also my new studio assistant✨ My Murphy girl came in January, and Daws and I have been soaking up all the snuggles and drool. She and I are planning to spend a lot of time at the easel now that we’re settling into our days. Excited to share some new work with you all soon!! 💕 here’s a sneak peak :)

✨My misty forest tips✨
•Start with what’s furthest in the background and keep it nice and light.
•As you move closer to the foreground, slowly increase the saturation and darkness of the colors. Don’t go too dark too fast (it’s tempting).
•A paper towel helps with making those misty streaks!
•Be patient :) the rewarding part (like most paintings) is at the very end when you add in the bold foreground and it pops against the lighter background. Don’t rush through the middle value layers.
