Climate change is no laughing matter. Unless youâre Dr Matt Winning - climate scientist and comedian đđ¨âđŤđ¤
Go and see his hilarious and thought provoking new show, SOLASTALGIA, this summer â¨
We sold out a couple wonderful nights in mid-Feb, then did a quick bit of climate training for @snluk , then my wife gave birth to a baby girl, then I didn't sleep for 2 months, and now I'm back at @sohotheatre for three nights later this month.
An epic show about fatherhood, finance and fossil fuels.
Acclaimed climate scientist, Dr Matt Winning (LLB, MSc, PhD), has been given an ultimatum: save the world by lunchtime tomorrow or sell his soul for a slice of Rockefellerâs fortune. But right now, heâs busy: his son is being born and heâs desperate for a piss.
Host of Net Zero: A Very British Problem (BBC Radio 4) and author of the Best Seller Hot Mess (what on earth can we do about climate change).
Directed by double Fringe First Award winner, Ben Target (not a climate scientist).
âGently funny, deeply human and profoundly poignant.' ââââ Scotsman
Cleverly weaves together several apparently disparate threads to make a hilarious but convincing whole.'

The entire UK transition to net zero by 2050 is cheaper than a single energy price spike like we are seeing now with US-Israel invasion of Iran or with Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
A new report by the UK Climate Change Committee came out yesterday showing that this is the case.
Important to remember that the net zero transition is actually compared to a world with volatile fossil fuels prices as well as the impacts of climate change.
What kind of comedy is âpainfully funnyâ??
Climate comedy !! (obv)
This week I produced a 4 minute TV package on @channel4news where we dive into this fast expanding genre cutting through the doom and the data.
Itâs the newest way to engage people on this crisis - and I have to say itâs working.
Recent research by the charity Climate Outreach and @wellcometrust shows 40% of Brits polled want to see MORE climate content in the entertainment they consume. Both on and off screen.
53% say they would feel MORE positively towards a character in a TV show who mentioned being concerned about climate change impacting their childrenâs future.
We speak to genius comics @mattywin85 and @jonathanpienews to find out what works and what doesnâtâŚ
And can you go too far?!
