Rainy day lurkin. If you’re wondering what this 7 foot stick is all about, it’s called a lurk. And I owe some people some gratitude for it. My deeply under-researched understanding is that in the early days of skiing, one’s heals were not locked down, so to prevent falling forwards, skiers leaned back on a pole. I have also heard that it was used for hunting as a spear and drinking from Norwegian springs (says Mike Beagan) and all sorts of tele legends and hoohah. All I know is, it’s fun to lean back and get weird. For several years, I have wondered aloud how I could possibly get a carbon fiber lurk because wood lurks are too heavy to manipulate them the way I would like. Well, for the holidays, my girlfriend @emdiggity__ and her dad made me one. It’s every bit as fun as I’d imagined and knowing what love went into it means so much to me. Without the love of the @killingtonmtn snowmakers, we wouldn’t be on Superstar in May. I know that much. Without the love of Ferb @super.piste on the 🎥, I wouldn’t be makin this reel in my kitchen. Without the love of @parlorskis I wouldn’t have the dopest skis in all the land. Does my love for whippin @parlorskis at @killingtonmtn make me crazy? Possibly. It’s a 3 hour round trip for one trail. Oh, but what a trail. This video was made just 4 days ago! And it is 4/29/26 today. It’s gonna be an unreal May. This place is incredible. I have a really hard time letting go of skiing, and this is the coolest way I know of to see if it off.
