Honored to have @setmargins publish my book A Visible Distance: Craft, Creativity, and the Business of Design. Part personal memoir and part professional manual, it provides practical and tactical strategies and insights to tackle the complexities of balancing intuition and taste, technical and personal capability, and strategic business decisions in design work and the demands of modern brand building. Order a copy at the link in my bio or stop by Set Margins at @printedmatter_artbookfairs Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair 2024 April 25-28 at 548 West 22nd St.

Thanks @juliettambrus for the 3D assist on this rad flipping version of the book!
I had the fortune of reviewing @chrispinter_ work as he attends @cranbrookdesign and was struck by his series of graphite drawings. I thought the textures would be great to explore in 3D. Chris was kind enough to send me some. After many great suggestions and back and forth this is the result. Thanks Chris! Was super fun to collab!
A bit of a drifting still life. Working with a limited number of forms and colors. I think the music helps make it feel like more than it is. Also setting these up to be less arduous to assemble and render.
Great quote from Return to Tipasa (Retour à Tipasa), an essay written by Albert Camus in 1952
“In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all, that... In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger—something better, pushing right back.”
I’ve been a huge fan of @nonstopdemo for many many years. I had the fortune of speaking at Justin’s class at Pratt awhile back and after the chat I asked Justin if he might be open to translating some of his work in 3D. As most people know, I’m forever sketching, learning, and trying things. This is a collection of a handful of experiments and doo-dads using Justin’s amazing work. Super fun and challenging and only scratches the surface of what’s possible with Justin’s wide array of forms. Thanks buddy!
