I was only able to make it to 3 places but my goodness I was blown away from the start at what I discovered on this treasure hunt they had set up for us 😱🔥 Once I was checked in, I was provided with everything I needed to embark on my journey through Columbus. I was given a badge, a map, an itinerary & a QR code to scan that took me to a website so I could check into each business participating in the event that I wanted to stop at. Nearly thirty photographers, videographers, and content creators gathered to socialize and share their work at the ASMP Ohio Valley Pints and Pixels event at Garage on York in Newport, KY, on February 13. A diverse group of work was shown, including lens-based art, AI projects, and a video documentary series on Greece. Ohio Valley chapter president Matt Reese kicked off the event by presenting awards to Tonya Bolton and Jim Talkington for their work on the board, while Will Jones, Hal Barkan, and Teri Campbell were recognized for their organizational efforts on last October’s State of the Industry panel at the Taft Museum. Thanks to Mariana Ianovska @mysokol for all the snaps! The next Cincinnati Pints and Pixels event will be Thursday, April 10, location TBD, and you don’t need to be an ASMP member to attend. There was a little bit of a learning curve I had to compensate for in post, but I’m really enjoying the technique. So... we decided to swing by @millergallery to take a peak at the Tyler Shields exhibit during our buying trip down in Cinci today. Turns out @thetylershields himself was there. Had fun hanging out and talking camera nerd stuff. There was also a super cute dog next door. 🧨🧨🧨

So… I’ve never tried creating an in-camera double exposure until now. Growing up on digital, I just didn’t have much appreciation for the technique since it can be simulated with more control in post-production. Sometimes it’s just better to be present in the moment and get it right the first time. This image was shot on a DSLR, but I was thinking analog in its creation. This week I’m sharing three looks from a recent test session.
