The morning diner! Funny how it’s the leveler, a neutral and honest place, a true slice of life in the USA. You can be a retired professor sitting next to a rancher, a college group on the way to an away game sitting near a mum and son. In the diner you’ll find commonality in the game last night or just the shared love for Cholula on ya ‘over easy’ eggs!
When Jools and I first came to the US 15 years ago, we woke up the very first morning and went straight to the diner… we had too! It was an institution, she had a STACK of pancakes and I had (American) bacon and eggs and couldn’t believe the endless coffee pours from this incredible waitress as she conducted the whole diner like a orchestra. Roll on 15 years, 32 states later, 32 diners later, this is my denim homage to that and the incredible working backbone of the US. That incredible idea from
