Excited for the Now, what’s ahead, yet ever aware of how unpredictable life is, and our time here. Steady reminding myself to make the best of it, practise gratitude for all of the small things, and to make time to reconnect - especially in person.
Recently had some breakthroughs around health, work, technology, ancestry, and the Unseen realms. All perfectly timed. The Divine is definitely moving. And I give thanks.

RIP King Kwame Botchway. A true Leader & Visionary 🖤
Still in disbelief as I was sure this was a friendship for a lifetime with many more projects, wins, and laughs ahead. I was even more sure he would be the Mayor of Cleveland or President of Ghana if he wanted it. The beautiful ceremony yesterday confirmed this.
Kwame and I met at an annual WEF meeting in New York, after I overheard some banter and we clicked right away. (Apparently during the first day, he thought I was a square in a suit and this wasn’t something I get often so I took it as a compliment 😂🙏🏽) We got in at like 5am that first night, and were back onsite for 9am, as you do.
A few weeks after NY, it was my pleasure to host the crew in Barbados and Kwame was unable to make it. ‘Next time’ for sure.
When I had friends move to Cleveland, Kwame was kind enough to meet and show them around. We had opportunities to link again in Switzerland, Trinidad, and Morocco but didn’t. Now I regret that. I’m just thankful we stayed in touch.
Always the achiever, when I first opened the message and saw the flyer, for a split second I thought he was nominated for an award or keynote speaker at another event.. only to realise it was for his funeral.
As I meditated on this, I couldn’t help but cry. The lost potential of an incredible leader, how many more people of his genius never get a chance to shine, and the pain over what he must have been going through.
When I looked through our texts, I’d sent him readings on Buddhism and the philosophy around suffering, in response to a post he’d shared about suffering and the weight on his shoulders as a leader. To that, I do recommend everyone read about ‘the Four Noble Truths’ (google it). Little did I know, and wish I did more.
The scary part is - it’s always the most outgoing people. The 4th and 5th picture is testament to his personality. Front row. Life of the team and community. Yet we never know what someone is going through.
A sad statistic is close to 50% of people who take this step never reach out for professional help. Please check on your friends and let them know you’re there.
