I approach “My Grandpa’s archive” not simply as documentation but as a space for imagination. Each photograph and object becomes a point of departure, inviting speculation about the ordinary and intimate moments that shaped his life.
By revisiting these personal collections, I attempt to construct imagined encounter moments that could have existed between us, even if they never did. Through this process, the past becomes both a source of memory and a field of creative possibility.

Happy to introduce my ongoing body of work, “My Grandpa’s Archives”. In this work I tried to reimagine my late grandfathers life through photo albums and personal collections. Having no shared personal moments with him, I intend to imagine one, knowing that his path in life led straight down from his generation to mine.

Taking time to reflect on black history month, how far we have come as a people and how far we need to go. Questioning the seats made available, why each seat comes from a kind of struggle or protest, why we always have to proof something.
