Five years ago, @matthewbeem drove toward North Carolina with a French-fry-covered Smart car and a dream.
He was looking for YouTube star MrBeast. Over a decade into his own YouTube career, Beem had little to show for it, averaging just 200 views per video with around 17,000 subscribers.
So he took a gamble. Using his savings and a $14,000 loan, Beem bought a car and customized it to advertise MrBeast’s burger brand. Without an invitation or permission, Beem drove from his home in Colorado Springs to MrBeast’s home in North Carolina, hoping to record himself giving MrBeast the car.
It paid off. The resulting video marked a turning point for Beem’s channel. Within six months, he reached one million subscribers.
Today, 29-year-old Beem is the biggest YouTuber in Colorado, with more than eight million subscribers.

#NintendoPartner | I’ve had a blast playing the Donkey Kong Bananza game on the Nintendo Switch 2 system this past year — it even inspired me and the team to create some fun treehouse builds that featured banana-themed slides, 3D-printed banana rock climbing walls, ziplines, swings, rope bridges, obstacle courses, smashable walls with hidden treasures, and more. Swipe for the highlights!
