Rocky Hill's HNTB is a large and growing engineering firm. It was great to meet with them and hear about how they're helping Connecticut get back to work.
Our homeless response efforts are under pressure from MAGA Republicans in Washington - who are raising costs for the American people (gas, food, housing) while slashing funding for the social programs we rely on. Today I joined Governor Lamont to announce $5 million in new funding to support our community homeless response efforts to get people housed and off the streets.
Thank you to @govnedlamont for signing SB 397 An Act Concerning Democracy and Accountability, our landmark law pushing back on federal overreach on the steps of our state Supreme Court. I was the first legislator to propose "Converse §1983" the civil rights law in SB 397 that allows Connecticut residents to sue if federal agents violate our constitutional rights.
I'm thrilled to report that our state budget has secured a historic investment in the towns of the 9th Senate District. This funding makes our towns more affordable, invests in our schools and supports seniors and people with disabilities.
The Quentin Williams Foundation is carrying on Q's life work of building a more just world. Proud to support this fine organization dedicated to the memory of my friend.
Eugene from Wethersfield is a student about to graduate from the Columbia School of Social Work. He came up to the Capitol to advocate for social workers. Grateful for their work in our communities each and every day.
