THAT ONE MATT BORS COMIC is live on Kickstarter.In 2016 I made a comic titled “Mr. Gotcha” that would become most viewed and circulated image I’d create. Now it is the subject of a book by Glenn Fleishman examining its history in online discourse.I’ll be writing an essay from my point of view of becoming a meme (complicated). But the main draw, I think, is the extensive list of writers and comic artists who are contributing new work. Glenn wants to examine the extensive use and abuse of the cartoon, its place in online culture and the politics of the strip, along with including many of the (hundreds!) of remixes and riffs on the original panel.I’m heavily involved in this project, designing the cover, producing new art, and committing to an extensive interview. I will also be offering signed prints for the first time through the campaign. We are offering two options—a full color print of all four panels and a high-quality giclée of the last panel, which I remastered from the original and will sign and number.Link in bio to back.
