The Matt Berry Trio - ‘Everything’s Peachy’: The Jazz Sessions Vol. 2 out 26 June. Pre-order now!
After the sold-out success of the Jazz Sessions first volume, ‘Soul Drums’ by The Steve White Trio, the series returns with Vol. 2: ‘Everything’s Peachy’, with Matt Berry joined by long-time collaborators Phill Scragg and Graham Mann as the Matt Berry Trio. Out 26 June, this is an exciting leftward turn by Matt, taking a break from his songwriting, leading the trio to visit some of his jazz, modern classical and electronic influences on this remarkable 12-part suite.
Alongside LP, CD and digital versions, is an Acid Jazz-exclusive ‘Opaque Spring Green’ colour vinyl LP edition, limited to 500 copies.
To preview the album we have extracted ‘Part 8’ as the first single, which is put together as a funky loop, punctuated handclaps and drawling trombone. Out now on all platforms!
A Call to Arms: A message in support of Matt Berry’s musical label-mates @jtq_official_ at Acid Jazz.
Help us to get James Taylor’s Hammonds Back
Two of the foundations of Acid Jazz, our movement and, well, several of our lives has been stolen.
Last Sunday in Rochester UK Hammond legend James Taylor’s van was stolen, and inside were his two Hammond Organs and their Leslie speakers.
These Hammond C3s have been with James for 40 years, since the end of the Prisoners and the start of the JTQ. They have had impecable pedigree both before and after their life with James. One had been owned by Marc Bolan and the other by Graham Bond and used in his Organisation alongside Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker.
James has used them on a string of his classic albums stretching back to Mission:Impossible and on to a forthcoming new album coming this year on Acid Jazz, as well as numerous sessions for the likes of U2, Tina Turner and Tom Jones
Obviously we would like to get these back, please keep an eye out for anyone selling these distinctive and important musical instruments.
Anyone with any news, please contact us through the usual channels.
Today we are celebrating a year to the day since the release of Matt Berry’s epic ‘Heard Noises’ LP on Acid Jazz.
This time last year we were unleashing the Top 30 album on the world, and preparing for the start of a tour of UK Rough Trade Stores, with an event at Rough Trade East where Matt and Acid Jazz founder Eddie Piller chatted on stage about Matt’s creative process.
To celebrate this we are offering 10% of all Matt Berry records on the Acid Jazz Store. Use code HEARDNOISES10
We asked one of the world’s most recognizable voices to walk you through the mind-boggling number of projects your donations fund.
Perhaps we should have been a bit more specific about what we were after…
Acid Jazz is the home of Matt Berry’s music, from the recent incredible ‘Heard Noises’ Super Deluxe Boxset, following the album release in January, to his label-debut ‘Witchazel’, which is now available on vinyl again!
Also explore the folk-inspired delights of ‘Kill The Wolf’, the country-influenced ‘Phantom Birds’, the synth adventures of ‘Music For Insomniacs’, as well as ’The Small Hours’, the fuzzy haze of ’The Blue Elephant’ and his library music collaboration with KPM, ‘Simplicity’.
The breadth of Matt’s work with us is extraordinary and this is the perfect time to dig in.
*Today is the last day for international orders to assure Christmas delivery / UK orders is 17 December*
Matt Berry ‘Witchazel’ - black vinyl repress UPDATE; the records are already on the way to us and orders will now ship next week. This means Christmas delivery is very much on!
Last week we announced the repress of ‘Witchazel’, Matt Berry’s debut album on Acid Jazz and the start of his now-15 year relationship with the label. It is of course the home of the fantastic ‘Take My Hand’ - known the world over at the theme to the BAFTA Award winning TV show Toast Of London.

Last year the track became a surprise internet sensation, and all remaining physical copies of the album were hoovered up. Which is a shame, because the album’s Wicker Man-inspired folk funk is a marvel, and gives us the roadmap for Matt’s continued success.
From December 12th we will be shipping a new black vinyl edition of the album. This will not be available to general distribution until early 2026.
At that arrival date we cannot guarantee a Christmas delivery, but we were certainly try!
