A lot of men find their sense of purpose through their children. And in many ways that’s a beautiful thing. Having something bigger than yourself to live for can keep a man grounded, focused, and less likely to fall into depression.
But sometimes that purpose becomes so narrow that a man starts to believe his only value is being a provider and protector for his kids. And while those roles are honorable, a man’s life shouldn’t begin and end there.
Our children shouldn’t be the only reason we find meaning in our lives. They should be one of the reasons we keep growing.
