☠️ ZINE ALERT ☠️ I didn’t just make the India Street Lettering book last year, I also published a brand new zine ☠️ DEAD LETTERS ☠️ about the beautiful and unexpected letterforms on gravestones in the South Park Street Cemetery (Kolkata), Nicholson Cemetery (New Delhi) and Nishatganj Cemetery (Lucknow). If you ever joined me for a type walk in Nicholson Cemetery, you might even remember seeing some of the featured photographs IRL.
Those of you who supported the Kickstarter campaign for the book would have already received your copy (it was a reward for one of the stretch goals 😇). Now, you also can get copies from your favourite local indie bookshops
@champacabooks @thebookshopinc @mehrabbookshop . Not in one of these cities? Champaca Bookstore ships the zine countrywide, and
@blaftpublications ships them around the world (links in my bio).
The zine uses a pre-release version of
@daytonamess.otf ’s gorgeous typeface Dargon, which was released by
@type_together just a couple of weeks ago. So lucky to have been able to use the design for the zine, months before the font release. It is such a perfect fit!

Please get yourself a copy of DEAD LETTERS, go for a walk in your nearest cemetery to see some letters, and show me what you document 📸 🤩 🪦
