I’m sure a lot of folks were and are being triggered by the conversations happening yesterday and that I’m sure will continue for at least a few days. This happening on the day the the current US administration shut down the LGBTQ+ youth hotline added an incredibly painful and poignant element to the discussion.

It’s Disability Pride month and it feels more important than ever before to celebrate, highlight, and lift up the intersection of queer and neurodiverse folks and their stories.
Open until July 14, we have an open call to showcasw queer neurodivergent romance authors and their stories.
Jumping off of the amazing idea Lucky Hart had, myself, Mat Mansfield, and Author V. Wynters are organizing a BookFunnel promotion event where we are gathering queer neurodivergent authors to share an original (new) romance short story with queer and neurodivergent characters.
This is an initiative to increase representation of neurodivergence within queer romance, promote the work of and provide community and newsletter building opportunities for queer neurodivergent authors.
This event will run in January and February 2026. All romance subgenres, all queer relationship dynamics, and all spice levels are welcome!
If you’re interested in participating, please fill out the application form by July 14, the stories are due by the beginning of the promotion January 2026.

Amidst ALL of the other things that are happening right now, this week is also Neurodiversity Pride Week!
We would be remiss if we didn’t take a moment to celebrate and honor neurodiverse folks and their neurodiverse brains. Whether you’re autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, bipolar, or anywhere across the neurodivergent spectrum, this week is a time to stand together with pride. Wherever you’re at in your journey, whether that be being diagnosed, self-identified, or still finding your way, you belong.
In light of that, and in an effort to continue celebrating, stay tuned for a BIG Bookish announcement coming from Mat Mansfield, D.C. Emerson, and V. Wynters on Monday - Neurodiversity Pride Day!
