Sejin Kim @sejinkimstudio is a video artist and filmmaker who uses documentary realism to depict the complex entanglement between the individual and society.
In her film ‘Urban Hermit’ (2016) we follow a female cleaner as she slowly moves through a modern art museum. Upon her journey we encounter other museum workers all perfectly poised within this highly controlled, pristine environment.
Pulling focus to explore feelings of anxiety and fear, loneliness and alienation, conflict and confusion, ‘Urban Hermit’ is a surreal viewing experience that calls into question how we navigate the social and political structures in which we live and love.
Sejin Kim is now exhibiting as part of I Have Not Loved (Enough or Worked) curated by @rachelciesla
Learn more about her work in the book ‘I Have Not Loved (Enough or Worked)’ now available in the AGWA Design Store or head to our Design Store website. The second publication in the series after BODIED.
