We are pleased to introduce to the Lisbon by Design Fair designer Mathilde Gallien @mathildegallien , whose practice bridges architecture and craftsmanship
Trained as an architect, she has recently turned to cabinetmaking and marquetry, developing a sensitive approach where precision meets intuition. Working with wood, she explores material, time and gesture, creating pieces shaped by structure, proportion and a deep attention to touch.
Her work seeks a balance between function and emotion, allowing organic forms to emerge through a slow and thoughtful process.
For Lisbon by Design 2026, she will be part of a collective installation in collaboration with Henriette Arcelin @henriette_arcelin and Fantasque @fanta_sque

The scroll saw and I have an understanding. Well, mostly.
Some days it follows the line, other days it has its own ideas, and I just have to deal with it 😅

This is where it begins.
Wood, tools, and the quiet focus of making something that lasts.
É aqui que tudo começa. Madeira, ferramentas e a concentração silenciosa de fazer algo que dura.
