Ce qu’il reste Ă  la nuit, Installation In Ce qu’il reste Ă  la nuit, various elements interact together, much like in an ecosystem, to create a narrative that challenges a colonial and expansionist approach to space exploration, as well as the science fiction imagination traditionally associated with it. In the film, two scientists study exoplanets using optical interferometry, an astrophysical observation technique that combines light captured by multiple telescopes to form a high-resolution image. They reflect on their fascination and nostalgia for the celestial bodies they study, questioning the memory of these places —never experienced— and their own way of approaching the future. Cosmic particles, originating from deep space, are detected in real time within the exhibition space using a low-tech sensor, revealing an alternative perspective of space through Earth. This leads the scientists to direct their gaze toward their own environment. In parallel, a terrestrial landscape within a 3D environment reacts in real time to the passage of these particles, emitting a fleeting glow, creating a porous interplay between the fictional space and the real world.
