We are delighted to announce the collective representation of the oeuvre of the artist Mathieu Cherkit by Semiose (Paris), Xippas (Punta del Este, Geneva) and Miles McEnery (New York) galleries.
This collaboration is intended to enhance the visibility of the artist’s oeuvre in Latin America, the USA and in Europe and open up new opportunities for his international development.
A solo exhibition of Mathieu Cherkit’s works is scheduled to take place at Semiose Gallery in Paris in the autumn 2026. New paintings by the artist will be presented at Art Geneva by Semiose and Xippas galleries.

The interiors painted by Mathieu Cherkit are disarmingly familiar, exploring domesticity in its most trivial form. Yet, despite every corner being detailed to the point of anecdote, the painting suddenly shifts into a more historical and metaphysical dimension: historical, when it references predecessors in painting, preferably abstract, while itself being viscerally figurative; metaphysical, through its temporal and spatial kaleidoscope, disrupting perspective and interweaving planes as in Cubism. From this painting, captured on the motif and with thick impasto, emerges the painter's tender and continually amazed gaze on his daily life.
