Why Is It So Hard To Do a Show in Cardiff?
I do hundreds of shows a year all over the world and Cardiff is consistently one of the hardest places to make a show happen.
And that is difficult to say because this is my home city. I want to be proud doing shows here.
Last night the PA tripped mid show and we lost power for a few minutes. That should not be happening and it generally does not happen.
This is not about one incident. Too often when Cardiff comes up on a tour, it simply feels harder than it should.
Infrastructure feels tired. Load ins are awkward. Security can be chaotic and inconsistent. Basic things that should run smoothly too often do not.
Do not get me wrong. Some venues here are absolutely nailing it. But I have more challenging experiences here than good ones.
It should not be this difficult.
The crowds are unreal. Bands love playing here.
Cardiff deserves venues that match that energy.
