There’s a lot going on right now.
Rising costs, constant pressure, trying to keep everything moving at work and at home.
It can build up quietly.
If you’re feeling stretched, flat, or just not yourself — that matters.
You don’t have to wait until things hit breaking point.
A simple check-in can make a difference.
Talk to someone you trust.
Or reach out to MATES anytime.

MATES in Construction SA, is a independent charity dedicated to supporting mental health and preventing suicide across the construction, mining, energy, and resources industries. 💛👷♂️⚡
Here’s how we make a difference:
🔸 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 – empowering workers and leaders with the skills to look out for their mates and create mentally healthy workplaces.
🔸 𝟮𝟰/𝟳 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 – our helpline, case managers, field visits, and critical incident response mean help is always there when it’s needed most.
🔸 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 – working alongside organisations to build safer, more supportive workplaces and tackle psychosocial risks.
🔸 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 + 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – leading the way with ongoing research so every step we take is backed by evidence and best practice.
Because at MATES, suicide is everyone’s business — and together, we’re creating an industry where no one is left to struggle alone. 💛

IT’S TOUGH TO TALK
But it’s even tougher to carry it alone.
Kyle’s story shows why checking in matters.
Why speaking up matters.
Why looking out for your mates matters.
You don’t need the perfect words.
You just need to start.

At Claridge, we’re continuing our commitment to mental health awareness across our business and sites.
Following our recent General Awareness Training with @matesinconstructionsa , our team has now completed the next phase, Connector Training. Held in our showroom, team members from both site and office came together to learn how to better support the people around them.
This training equips participants with the tools to recognise when someone may be struggling, have safe and meaningful conversations, and connect them with the right support services and resources.
These conversations aren’t always easy, but they are necessary. Mental health in the construction industry has historically gone unchecked, and we’re committed to helping create a culture where our people and trade partners feel supported, heard and looked after.
Because a stronger industry starts with looking after our people.

There are moments that hit hard across our whole community.
Recent events like this are a reminder of how quickly things can change in someone's life and how deeply something can affect people, even beyond those directly involved.
We’ve seen the conversations.
People checking in.
People speaking up.
People reminding each other to look out for their mates.
That matters.
Because in moments like this, connection is everything.
If it’s been sitting with you, even quietly, you’re not alone. It’s okay to feel it, but it’s even more important to talk about it.
Check in with your mates.
Start the conversation.
And if you need support, reach out.
You don’t have to carry it on your own.
