Great energy across the venue this morning as Day 1 of FOOTPRINT+ 2026 gets underway. Conversations so far have focused on delivering net zero in retrofit, heat pumps and improved EPC ratings, and market sentiment, appetite and behaviour, with contributions from @basil_fore @stifftrevillion @aet_flexiblespace @mitsubishielectric @material_idx and others. More highlights throughout the day. #FOOTPRINTplus

As the property industry faces fresh challenges, these people and the businesses they have established will play a vital role in solving problems across the globe. Only at FOOTPRINT+ can you find out what they're thinking and the moves they'll be making to adapt to an increasingly unstable world. These entrepreneurs took a leap and created new enterprises. Each company bringing a unique practice and set of ideas to the table, including expertise in: sustainability, engineering, consultancy, circularity of the built environment and asset management. → Chris Hunt - V7 → James Coulsey - Trigon DM → Luca Silipo - Finisterre → Gilli Hobbs - Reusefully Ltd → Ryan Ray - Y Analytics → Robert Smith - Material Index With just six weeks to go, explore the full conference speaker list via the link in our bio. → May 13-14 Old Billingsgate, London @reuse_fully @material_idx @trigondm

Product #3: Reclaimed interiors, ready to specify 🪑♻️ Not everything on our marketplace comes from live strip-outs. We also work with a growing network of trusted trade partners who specialise in high-quality reclaimed and vintage stock, like this piece. From one-off design classics to volume furniture, the range means it’s easier than ever to specify reclaimed with confidence. Live site materials. Curated stock. One place.

Product #2: Kitchenettes 🍵♻️ We come across medium to high-quality kitchenette units like this on strip-out projects all the time — often barely used, fully fitted, and ready for another workspace. Cabinetry. Worktops. Integrated sinks. Appliances. Many of these units are now live on our marketplace — audited, catalogued, and ready to be rehomed. Because sometimes the most sustainable specification… is the one that already exists.

These radiators were identified during one of our audits, brokered by the MI team, and successfully collected and shipped from site; ready for their next life instead of the skip. ♻️ This is what happens when reuse is planned early and followed through properly. Audit → broker → collect → rehome.

Pink PPE but make it circular ♻️🩷 Today the MI team popped onto a live site to catch up with contractors, talk reuse opportunities, and rescue a few gems for tonight's exhibition at 1 Poultry ✨

Join Material Index and fellow reuse experts for a discussion on 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘋𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, part of the public programme for the exhibition 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦, hosted at 1 𝐏𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐲. Set within the exhibition, Material Index invites you to a conversation led by architects, engineers, artists, and material specialists exploring how buildings are taken apart. The discussion will consider how acts of subtraction are represented, negotiated, and rarely detailed, and how these decisions ultimately shape what becomes waste and 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕. The Material Index team will also be on hand to demonstrate their reuse platform and newly launched marketplace for reclaimed materials.

New year, new workspace ✨ We’ve officially moved into Techspace on St Andrew Street. Looking forward to welcoming collaborators, conversations, and a lot more material reuse from here.

Reclaimed lighting, properly catalogued 💡 From iconic pendants to performance-grade downlights, these fittings have been carefully audited, specified, and made ready for reuse. What you see here is a snapshot of what’s already live on our marketplace ♻️ with known specs, quantities, and real project provenance. Less guesswork, more confidence.

A little quiet on here… but very busy behind the scenes 👀 Last year was full of audits, research, site visits, conversations, and most importantly, bringing the Material Index marketplace to life. (That first slide = a big milestone moment for the team.) This carousel is a small snapshot of the people behind it all, site days, workshops, wins, laughs, and everything in between. And while we’re reflecting… the year ahead has already hit the ground running 🚀 More projects, more materials saved, more partners onboard, and a growing marketplace turning reuse into the default, not the exception. Here’s to another year of doing the work, asking better questions, and pushing circularity forward, together. ✨ 2026, let’s go.

Stacks on stacks of perfectly reusable carpet tiles ♻️✨ One of the easiest wins in office fit-out reuse, and we find a lot of them.
