Grassroots banners over the last year! Love to see them all together. All of these organizations do community based work in Kentucky and are made up of so many people I deeply admire and believe in.
A lot of the time our local crews are strapped for time and capacity, meaning art and culture can fall to the backburner. It’s been such a delight to bring quilting and handmade banners into different movement ecosystems, and put my time and energy into materials tools that bring in some joy and flavor ✨
Another quilt come and gone! Biggest one yet I think?
Number one reason this quilt commission with Seith was so delightful was cause it meant we got to hang nearly every week. Part trade- next up we’re gonna be building out a platform for the back of my truck!
Mega grateful to get to do this kind of work, and get to collab this go around.
Folks in DC! Join us for the opening event of art exhibition 500 Miles Out: Carceral Ties Between the District and Central Appalachia, which will highlight the relationship of these two regions via the prison-industrial-complex––including the proposed federal FCI Letcher prison––and feature artwork by BCNP friends and coalition members. Swing by on May 2nd between 4-6pm at Rhizome DC to see artwork by Jordan Martinez-Mazurek, Kat Smith, Comrade Pitt Panther, Tiffany Pyette, and more! Stay tuned for details on @rhizome_dc 's website!
Catch this quilt in ‘500 Miles Out: Carceral Ties Between the District and Central Appalachia’
This group art show features work about the federal prison currently being proposed in Letcher County, KY, and highlights the 500 mile radius impact zone around it. Live in that zone? Your friends, family and neighbors will be impacted if this prison is built. This prison has been defeated before though, so we can do it again!
Show opens May 2nd from 4-6pm at @rhizome_dc - if you’re in DC, please come out! (Or even if you aren’t in DC?)
Otherwise please invite your homies and go over to @nonewletcherprison to find out more about how to get involved.

Age of Peace debuts new single “Dead Alligator” today in light of their upcoming album “Ode to Life” out April 24th
Dead Alligator started as a chant Micah and Angie made on a drive to New Orleans 2 years ago, shouting and singing “Dead Alligator off the side of the highway - ooooooh! “ The two came home and transformed it into song, later transforming into puppets with time!

@nonewletcherprison is a coalition working to stop the construction of yet another federal prison in Letcher County, KY. This prison has already been defeated once, so we know we can do it again!
Proposing to build a new federal prison in Letcher County is not just a local issue. BOP Policy is to try to house incarcerated people within 500 miles from their homes. If you live in the impact zone, your friends, family and neighbors will be impacted by this prison if it’s built.
Once this quilt is finished, it’ll be making it’s way up to DC along with work by other friends for a show all about the #nonewletcherprison campaign. Stay tuned for more info on the opening! And till then, throw down on some letter writing, and talk to BCNP directly on how to get involved.
art hoopla of 25 had me grinnin’
So grateful for how far it took me on the dusty road, the chance to keep stepping into the mystery goop, and ofc all the new + old buds along the way (my favorite part) !
Here’s to another round of making, and playing, and trying, and failing, and figuring it out, and trusting in the process.
We buckling up for the big 26 horse energy yeehaw 🐎🐎🐎
This Friday from 6:30-9pm at @artfarmcoop you can also find 2 of these art bundles of mine at the @patchwork_ky community soirée! A great place to find out more about worker owned co-ops and how Patchwork is supporting the growth of cooperative economies here in Lexington. + food, cash bar, live music, prizes and an art auction that these bundles will be in.
We gonna be hangin! Come on down my guys!
Shooweee what a whirlwind of a season- big time grateful for my time in this world and for getting to pour so much into living a creative life! My cup is full knowing it resonates with folks, and then overflows knowing so many people have supported my practice in a million different ways!
Here are a few market snapshots of some folks I feel lucky to have in my life (I wish I had taken a photo of everyone who came through!!) Also special thanks to August, David, Auggie, Blake, and Sarah for helping hold down my booth at some point during the markets, literally couldn’t do it without ya’ll.
If you are wanting to purchase items but couldn’t make the markets, I have some pieces for sale at @institute193 and @artfarmcoop , two places I love dearly and who are doing incredible work in Lexington.
After the last few order drop offs I’ll be doing I’m really excited to be slowing down for a bit and shifting towards some other creative projects that have been on the back burner. Here hoping everyone gets a chance to slow as the year comes to a close <3
