Máté Kohout (b. 1991) is a Hungarian artist based in Amsterdam and Berlin. Only after completing his BFA, Kohout shifted his focus to photography. Also trained as an art handler and set builder, his work often centers around picturesque, staged-like compositions drawn from the seemingly mundane aspects of everyday life.
Having grown up in a small town in southern Hungary, Kohout's photography reflects the stillness and unpredictability of his surroundings. He is perpetually seeking beauty in urban environments and finding value in the overlooked and ordinary. Through his lens, Kohout strives to stage the un-staged, highlighting the unintended artistry in neglected objects, discarded materials, or even ubiquitous, generic items. His perspective reimagines these as readymades or accidental art installations.
For Kohout, photography is a meditative practice. His photo-walks serve as an antidote to the pressures of conceptual overthinking and the relentless pace of habitual modern life. Through his work, he invites viewers to slow down, shift their perspectives, and observe the world free from conventional judgment.

Our call is open worldwide to all types of visual arts; photography, painting, illustration, sculpture, design, film stills, etc. Basically anything printable in a book. No restrictions in terms of age, accomplishments, approach… You can send images from one or more projects but note that they will still be considered individually.
Your credentials or previous accomplishments are irrelevant. Our mission is to give a home to great images whatever the background of the artist is. That being said, we have always encouraged the newcomers. Since the beginning we try our best to spread the work of unknown & emerging (sorry to use this term…) artists!
